Seeing lots of happy faces

It was Eid yesterday. Its a celebration after 29 days of fasting. I saw lots of happy faces. Had collected lots of happy memories. These days this is one of the things which Im doing I try to collect happy memories. You know those images or situations where you find so happy. These thoughts can be used for your happy meditations which can help you bring in more creativity of your side. This is one thing I have observed, the more you are looking for happy memories, the more happy memories come in your way as well.

It feels good to be back home

We all get busy with our work sometimes and we often spend little to no time with the family or your native town. Last week of Ramadan, I have been working from my hometown and met lots of relatives as well as old friends. It really feels great and I have more zest for working and going ahead. It is these minute things which we often forget to spend time which inspires and helps us keep going when times are not in favor for us. Eid Mubarak folks, wishing all happines and success ahead.

A day with minimal digital interaction

The more busier it gets

Sometimes I feel being busy is a good thing. As in you would be making progress in your life and carrier if the business is for the right cause. If it is not, then its a whole together different story. Where im coming from is, when you are not actively engaged you would need immense amount of will power and motivation to be consistent on your track, however if you are able to align your career goals and life goals with your work and be actively enganged there. I would say things are easier. It can be another example of grouping goals together.

Life moves very fast

If you have noticed, time moves like any thing. And we all will be busy with our own things. It is very much important that we do not forget what we are and where we come from. It is very much important that we invest time in where we want to go on a daily basis. There is no destination my friend, it is not going to be any better tomorrow. Now is the time all you have, make great use of it.

Being positive and being happy

This may sound very cliche. In the sense, you just make your mind at calm and happy even though when you have lot of things to do and you are in lots of pressure. The best strategy what I feel we could do is to not give up and just being happy. That helps. But, it may not be that obvious to do that. Its very difficult indeed. To make your brain understand it is okay to have some relaxation in your mind. To just being happy ignoring whatever is going around. Once you are in calm and composed state, you will have all the answers.

What an Amazing day

I really enjoyed working from home this week. Of course working from office has its perk. Usually, I would be cribbing about the difficulties in working from home. This time, I thought why complain. Look a the root cause and fix whatever the issue is. Well, I was missing my whole work station. Ordered monitors, a good desks, laptop holder, mechanical keyboard and a mouse. Voila, my work from home setup is ready. Now, im more productive. I felt that I was very much enganged into work. No distractions and at the end of the day you are reconnecting with your family. It feels good.

A Day away from laptop

I had come to my native place yesterday and had spend the entire day without laptop or not too much on any tech gadgets. It really feels good when you just spend time outside of all these digital world. On Monday morning, as I write this I have my full energy on to get things done.

Reading in early morning

I feel reading early morning helps stimulate the brain. What I have observed is if you read something in a hardcopy book, it just refreshes. At the same time, if you watch a video or something, it just drains the energy. But, the human tendency would be inclined to watch the videos even though you have observed the end results quite few times. If you are having a tiring morning, you know what to avoid and what to do. Even if you really dont want to do, just knowing this is going to change the brains mood helps. Once the brain comes to the flow state, then it takes care of things on its own.

Not giving up on sleep

These days I have been taking a different approach. I do my work the same time regularly. I dont bother strething in the night or slack by starting late. Even when there is lots of pressure on deliveris, i make sure this is being followed. We usually think, we will stay late and get things done and then sleep. But, it is better to sleep and look at the problem in the morning. If you take 1 hour in the night, you could solve it in 30 mins as you are fresh and not tired. Since you had a good sleep, you are good for an entire day. Since you dont change this thing much, your mind and body knows when to start work and when to stop. By this, the brain also give you a bit of support on getting up to the speed. It knows, when you should get into work mode and it is easy to achieve the flow state.

You are what you consume

Isnt this the case. Our ideas and thoughts are very much biased on the things we consume whether it be movies, books, articles, conversations, etc. I tried to keep a close watch on what I consume and the impact of it. Its true. If you just ignore all the non helpful things or dont bother to consume. In the sense, dont bother to go over social media, youtube shorts, reels, etc. And instead rely on good sources may be a book of a reputed author. Then, the brain gets biased in that direction. And I often feel like what we desire and motivation, it is not just what we want. Its just our brain is biased towards the ideas which we have consumed in the past and we just think we want that. Try this exercise, just observe what all things you are consuming and keep a note of it. And also try to keep a note of your behaviour. Dont change anything just observe. Now, change one consumption at a time, may be stop going over social media. Then observe your mood and behaviour. And you can figure a conclusion by yourself. Isnt it very interesting.

Bed time reading

It feels good to go to bed with a book. Im just trying this out. Its better to have predefined time slots of doing things rather making instant choices when you want to get things done. Thats what I do these days, I try my best to predecide some of the activities and make it constant or as part of routine. Its easier that way, you really dont have to think much and things will get done as time passes. Setup your processes and just wait.

Starting the day happily

Some of the things are in our control but most of the things are. We always have choice on how we react and it can have a huge impact. The idea what Im proposing is simple, no matter whether you know or is expecting a difficult day, just start your day happily. You will be creative and would come up with solutions just like that. Let me give you an example, I had to take a meeting at 8.30 in the moring and I had not prepared well this time. But, I thought i will experiment this time just making the brain happy. You wont believe it, I was able to get ready for the meeting in 15 minutes. I came up with a quick representation using excalidraw and took the meeting and answered all questions on the go. Wow, just wow. Some times, just making your brain happy helps.

We are the choices we make

Today, I happen to come across this line, it was from a book name Daily Stoics. It said, we are not our body or our hair style rather the choices we make. Indeed, isnt it true. Everytime you have a choice, you can either do something or dont. And this choice will decide what sort of person you are in the long run. If you have made couple of hard choices and decisions which average people are not willing to do or make, then you are going some place where the average people are not going. Its we who decides where we can go and its entirely in our control.

Work Rabbit hole

We all know usually what at the end of the day is going to make you happy and satisfied. But still, we never do that owing to initial intertia and mental effort required for the same. We end up doing the easy things which results in a bad mood, which you already knew from the beginning itself. Then, why we do that. Of course, brain prefers easy dopamine and less load on it. What can we do about it. Well, if we ask in this way, I would say deliberate training. There is no easy way around this. Unless, you force yourself by explaining the rationality to your brain, there is no other way to fix this. When in the process, you may not enjoy it but once things are done, you would be much for satisfied and would be feeling proud.

Utilising time well

We all have equal amout of time. It is entirely upto us on how we use the time. If we use the time in a very thoughtful way, you would feel good about it. If you had spend in other way, you will experience the same. My friends, please be aware on where you are spending your time especially your free time. Utilising time for career advancement is one thing and it is also important how we use the free time to nurture our spirits. Whether it be improving upon the extra curriculars, hanging out with your closed ones, going trips, etc.

People makes you happy

The more you interact positively with people the more it will have an effect on you. This is just an observation I did yesterday, you would be entirely satisfied if you had very good conversation in your work place during that day. And would be in full energy for your next day as well. Indeed we are emotional beings.
